What is JobReady: Construction?
JobReady: Construction is an collaborative effort to recruit and train a diverse, qualified workforce for the Mercy Health Medical Center construction project in Muskegon.
The program offers job seekers the choice of a one-year construction apprenticeship or entry-level full-time employment. Participants will gain the skills and experience needed for a career in one of many construction occupations.
The JobReady: Construction apprenticeship is a one-year program that combines classroom learning with on-site work experience. Apprentices will earn a wage while learning the skills for a career in construction. Apprenticeship applicants must be 18 years or older.
Participants who are “job-ready” can begin working immediately. Job-ready applicants are 18 years or older and have:
- transportation to work site
- a state ID
- reading and math skills
Whether you choose to “earn and learn” with an apprenticeship or you’re ready for full-time employment, all program applicants must have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
