After you file your claim with the Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA), you must register for work.

As part of this step you will complete a job seeker profile and upload a resume on Pure Michigan Talent Connect. If you have already registered, be sure to login at least once every 30 days to keep your account active.

If you haven’t registered yet, here’s how:

Step 1.

Create a Pure Michigan Talent Connect account and profile.

  1. Visit mitalent.org
  2. Click on Create an Account
  3. Choose Job Seeker
  4. Click Sign Up
  5. Complete Profile
  • Sign Privacy and Terms of Use Statement.
  • Complete contact information, account password and security questions.
  • Fill out employment information (refer to your resume).

Step 2.

Visit a West Michigan Works! Service Center (find a service center near you). If you are unable to come into a service center, you may register to work via a virtual meeting. Use the calendar below to make an appointment.

Step 3.

Once your profile is complete, service center staff will verify that you have registered for work. You will receive an email with that verification.
