Summer Youth Programming

In order to provide a safe and healthy learning environment, West Michigan Works! is offering a virtual experience for its youth program participants this summer.

Summer 2020 Virtual Career Readiness Program

The Summer 2020 Virtual Career Readiness Program offers a virtual “earn and learn” experience for eligible youth, ages 16-24.*  The program runs six weeks, from July 6 to August 14. Classes are held Monday through Thursday (Fridays off!).

Participants will be using computers with internet access, but don’t worry if you don’t have equipment or a WiFi connection. That won’t affect your eligibility. Just let us know about it on your application.

*Must be 16-24 years old by July 1, 2020.

What would I do/learn? If accepted, you would participate in virtual career exploration and problem-solving activities, soft skills training, employers days and hear from guest speakers. The program ends with a final celebration.
Tell me more about “earn & learn.”  All participants are paid weekly based on their virtual attendance and completion of program activities.
I’m interested! What’s next? To find out if you’re eligible to participate in the program,  just complete and submit the online application by the deadline, June 19, 2020.

All applications must be submitted electronically by June 19, 2020 to be considered.

If you’re accepted into the program, you’ll receive an email with your orientation date and full summer schedule. Orientation will be virtual and attendance is mandatory. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.

Program acceptance spots are filled as funding allows and there are no placement guarantees.
