West Michigan Works! offers free workshops that can help you develop the materials and skills necessary to reenter the workforce, from resume development to creating a 30 second infomercial.

TABE - Feb. 22

TABE - Tests of Adult Basic Education – is an academic assessment to determine both the knowledge and skills of adults in the areas of Reading and Math. TABE is an online assessment that takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. TABE is a requirement for participation in West Michigan Works! programs.

Take your resume to the next level! This workshop and is designed for individuals interested in improving their existing resume. Attendees will leave having all the necessary information needed for creating a professional resume.

*It's recommended that individuals have at least a basic resume prior to attending. Digital format is ideal (mitalent, flash drive, email).

Resume Lab - Feb. 22

This 2 hour "open lab" workshop directly follows Resume Makeover and is intended to give you the time needed to update or upgrade your resume. Staff will be on-hand throughout the class offering tips and suggestions on how to help make your resume stand out.

Computer Basics - Feb. 22

Are you a new computer user? Using a computer and the internet are ESSENTIAL parts of the job search process. This workshop is designer for a beginner, introducing the basics needed for computer-based job search activities including: keyboard and mouse use, internet job searching, creating and using an email account, basic word processing, and completing online applications.
